ROOM The Movie

My husband is the big movie buff in our family. He’s always telling me about he latest movies, old movies that he can’t believe I’ve never seen, and watches his favorites over and over again. Finally, I was able to tell him about a new movie coming out that he didn’t know about, ROOM. I love a good love story. Now that I’m a mom, toss in a strong mom character and I’m hooked. Based off the the book by the same name written by Emma Donoghue.

Ma (Brie Larson) is raising her 5-year-old son, Jack (Jacob Tremblay), in a 10×10 foot windowless room. She hasn’t always been there, but he has been there his entire life. Nothing seems out of the ordinary they play games, tell stories, and spend a lot of time together. Jack has only known Room has his home and is oblivious to the outside world. Ma plans an incredible escape so she can give her son everything he deserves, as his curiosity about life and the world grows.

You’ll love the touching family moments, the intensity, and the hope to find freedom in this movie. Donoghue captured the bound between parents and children beautifully in her story. See the preview for yourself:

Emma Donoghue will share insights and special posts about the novel and the movie every Tuesday and Thursday on the official ROOM website. It’s a great way to connect with a magnificent author. You’ll love it if you’ve read the book and get pumped to see the movie. Plus, you can stay connected by following #ROOMmovie on Facebook and Twitter.

ROOM opens on November 6, 2015

  1. I would use it to have a movie date with my 6 year old! A special mommy-daughter day.

  2. My son is graduating from Army Ait training next month and I am going to the graduation so I would use it for my trip

  3. I would use it to buy cupcakes for my daughter to celebrate her birthday at school with her friends, she is going to be 5 on the 20th.

  4. I would buy 2 giant Jr Mints boxes at Walmart, 2 Izze Pomegranate Sodas at the 99 Cents only store and my gal pal and I would take the bus to Old Town Pasadena (the only place where the film is showing that I know of) buy two tickets to see Room (the movie!) and smuggle our treats in and watch the film. I have read that Brie Larson is getting Oscar attention for this performance!

  5. Thank You for the giveaway…would use the $$ towards a new pair of running shoes !
