My husband is the big movie buff in our family. He’s always telling me about he latest movies, old movies that he can’t believe I’ve never seen, and watches his favorites over and over again. Finally, I was able to tell him about a new movie coming out that he didn’t know about, ROOM. I love a good love story. Now that I’m a mom, toss in a strong mom character and I’m hooked. Based off the the book by the same name written by Emma Donoghue.
Ma (Brie Larson) is raising her 5-year-old son, Jack (Jacob Tremblay), in a 10×10 foot windowless room. She hasn’t always been there, but he has been there his entire life. Nothing seems out of the ordinary they play games, tell stories, and spend a lot of time together. Jack has only known Room has his home and is oblivious to the outside world. Ma plans an incredible escape so she can give her son everything he deserves, as his curiosity about life and the world grows.
You’ll love the touching family moments, the intensity, and the hope to find freedom in this movie. Donoghue captured the bound between parents and children beautifully in her story. See the preview for yourself:
ROOM opens on November 6, 2015
